I am an out of work warehouseman from Delaware County, PA. I'm also a lifelong baseball fan. In the 90's I took to minor league baseball and became a fan of the Wilmington Bluerocks. More recently I've become a more serious fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, and started paying attention to AHL & ECHL hockey, following the Philadelphia Phantoms in their last 3 seasons, and road tripping to Hershey for Phantoms/Bears games.
Over the last four or five years I've become as active a rugby fan as an American can be, supporting Munster two several Heineken Cup victories and a Mangers League championship. I've also become a serious fan of mixed martial arts.
Most recently I came under the employ of the South Jersey Lynx, a semi-pro football team in Vineland, NJ. I will be working in the PR & Marketing departments as well as being the team's photographer for the 2009 season. I am also a staff photographer for AtlanticLeagueIndependent.com covering the Camden Riversharks and Lancaster Barnstormers baseball teams.
I have always enjoyed great sports photography, particularly baseball portraits from the 50's and 60's to the work of shooters like Brad Mangin.
Early in my layoff I decided to take up photography as a hobby, and naturally wanted to focus on sports. I made a conscious effort to shoot as often as possible, and try to experience as many different sports as I could.
Thanks to Respect is Earned, I was ringside shooting the first professional mixed martial arts fight in the metro Philly area. I also shot the first amateur MMA fight at Reading's Sovereign Center.
So far I'm a self-taught photographer, but I'm not above constructive criticism. I do think that my results get better with every shoot, and I do plan on taking some classes when I get a chance.
