Elmira Jackals Rookie Pro Camp (2009 Edition)

I had the opportunity to spend last weekend in Elmira, NY helping the ECHL's Jackals at their rookie pro camp. Had a chance to see how a pro hockey front office works, and sat down with Robbie Nichols and Donnie Lewis and learned some of the ins-and-outs of the sports business.

The business, as it turns out, is 80% sales, which has always been one of my (many) weaknesses. They say sales is all relationships, and if you know me, you know that I really do hate people. Deep down in a very genuine way, I hate people.

All this came about through my new job, which is basically an internship, with the Philadelphia Thunder Jr. A hockey team. Hopefully this gig with the Thunder will lead to a job offer somewhere in the minors.
